Digital Certificate

A Digital Certificate is a certificate of sorts saying that the site supports security and/or its authentic. It requires a key that is usually encrypted.

Cookie

A Cookie is a small text file that contains credentials for logging into a website.

A Client is a node that requests data from services.

ActiveX is an API that allows you to write programs for the web.

Worm

A Worm is a self-replicating program that spreads to other computers by exploiting security holes. In other words, its like having a small hacker rendered completely in computer software and it hacks other computers on the internet and the uploads itself into the computer system that it takes over. Some payloads include making the infected system part of a Botnet which is a network of infected computers which can be used to create potent attacks on web services.

Virus

A Virus is a small computer program that spreads by infecting other programs and/or sending them to others by email. They usually cause some form of destruction but some are benign and do almost nothing. Some viruses come with algorithms that help them evade anti-virus and baffle information assurance
